Sumboosac (Arabic meat pastries)


Ingredients:

  • Mince meat
  • Pastry dough
  • Onions, chopped
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt and pepper

Special equipment:

  • Frying pan
  • Folding pastry cutter

Method:

1. Mix onions with the mince, adding salt and pepper to taste.

2. Fry the mince.

3. Flatten the pastry dough and cut into circles about the size
of your palm.

4. Put one tablespoon of mince mixture onto the dough.

5. Place in the pastry cutter. This will fold the dough so that
it forms a crescent shape.

6. Continue until the mixture and pastry are used up.

7. Heat oil in frying pan and cook each sumboosac until golden
brown on both sides.
